Reading through the Irish Times this morning I was struck by two references to two Labour Ministers..
In the first piece by Ronan McGreevy, Pat Rabitte was speaking after the launch of a report by The Institute of Public Health entitled; ‘Fuel Poverty, Older People and Cold Weather: an All-Island Analysist’. The findings were based on an all Ireland survey of 722 people who use organisations that assist the elderly. The minister disputed the figure of 51.1% of older people who do without essentials to pay their heating costs, adding that ‘no politician or social worker would believe that it was true’.
Turn the page and Eamon Gilmore accuses Mary Lou McDonald of “making things up” when Deputy McDonald pointed out the net results of removing legacy posts in disadvantaged schools.
