Offering Constructive Criticism on an Action Plan for Jobs

Today we got the 270 point plan on Jobs from FG. I have linked to the full document in case you want to look for any mention of Labour, but it looks like they may be quietly packing up their things and backing out the door, hoping no-one notice their absence. Here’s the link to an Action Plan for Jobs;

Anyway, I’m trying to be open minded on this one and offer some constructive criticism, so I’ll begin……….

Right enough of the welcome mat. The fact is how can you trust a government to deliver on a 270 point plan, when they had trouble with the 5 point one. As I skimmed the PDF looking for light at the end of the tunnel,  I came across this enlightened observation,

“It is critical that we create an environment
that supports entrepreneurs and small businesses in every way possible to expand, create jobs
and contribute to our economic growth.” (2012, Action Plan for Jobs, p39)

Entrepreneurs require a fertile environment, they require confident  consumers with money in their pockets to buy their products/services. We do not have that at present.

A plan for job creation is badly needed, but this  governments’  short track record is abysmal. Failure to deliver on promises, coupled with ferocious back peddling after policy announcements do not inspire confidence. But as they say, actions do speak louder than words, so let’s see some action!
